The piano version of “Nature’s Energy - Part 1”.

It’s a exercise in poly-rhythms, so get ready to count! This first section of three was inspired by the changing and shifting nature of a specific part of the Kent coast.

I wrote ‘Nature’s Energy’ as part of a commission, for a 12-minute work - a collaboration with The 12 Ensemble, London Contemporary Voices and the Fifth Continent Landscape Partnership. It was originally written for string quartet and 8-voice choir, and now, you can play it on the piano. The project was funded generous donations from Heritage Lottery Fund, the Michael Tippet Foundation, Leche Trust and Kent Wildlife Trust, among others.
